Alessandro Mori is a living legend. His wines truly reflect his sometimes introvert personality - and I mean that in good way! He's been around for ages, and his wines have manic followers across the globe, as he's proven to master the flickery Sangiovese better than most. I'm not sure whether to "produce the best wine possible", is his idea nor his mission, but if they are; then both will apply here.
Vineyards are located just outside the city centre, on the western side. It's tiny and steep, with great drainage but moderate, direct sunlight result in a prolonged growing season. The extended hang time guarantees perfect phenolic ripeness of tannins and maintained acidity.
"My wines, the result of a process that came out of the commercial fees, are the expression of my personality”
It's almost difficult to chose a more traditional path in winemaking; extended maceration in concrete vats, long aging in old Bottis in order to be able not to either clarity nor filter.
